Healthcare in Switzerland
You should carry your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) or the Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC) while you’re in Hungary. These cards will entitle you to free or reduced cost emergency medical treatment. However, it’s important to still have travel insurance for Hungary, to cover any costs that the EHIC/GHIC won’t cover, like repatriation.
If you have pre-existing medical conditions you must declare these before you buy your policy to ensure you’re fully covered.
